CREDA's Partnerships

Local Community
CREDA’s success depends on the involvement and cooperation of the local community. While our work has given us a strong presence in the villages, we cannot take this position for granted and often face resistance and must continuously work towards maintaining good relations with all local community people.

CREDA has identified positive and negative stakeholders instrumental in supporting and blocking the education of working children. Non-cooperative stakeholders have been continuously mobilised and persuaded by CREDA as well as the local community to be part of the campaign on child labour. The participation of negative stakeholders is an indicator of the success of the strategy adopted by CREDA.

Agency Partnerships
In the initial years, CREDA ran educational centres with the support of individual donations and voluntary service. CREDA also received short-term support from funding agencies like Terres des Hommes and Child Relief and You (CRY).

Though the focus of our work is child education and the elimination of child labour, CREDA realised that in order to achieve its objectives, we had to gain community trust and acceptance and also address the issue of community development. Thus, CREDA regularly interacted with the villagers and discussed their problems. We also undertook drought and flood relief works with funds from Oxfam and a bullock-cart development programme with funds from Consortium on Rural Technology (CORT).

CREDA believes in information sharing and supporting NGOS in capacity building, training and resource mobilisation. CREDA is closely collaborating with 65 NGOs in the states of UP, MP, Bihar and Rajasthan under the banner of Alliance for Protection of Child Rights (APCR).

CREDA welcomes all organisations committed to this cause.
